Medicaid Unwinding Webinar

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress passed legislation to ensure people would have access to health coverage and other benefits while the country was in a state of public health emergency (PHE). Millions of people who lost employer-sponsored coverage enrolled in Medicaid and have had continuous coverage the past few years. When the PHE officially ends on March 31, 2023 people who have had Medicaid coverage will go through "Medicaid Unwinding", a state-run process to redetermine whether or not they’re still eligible for Medicaid.

As many as 15 million people will lose Medicaid coverage during the unwinding process, and almost 3 million of them will qualify for ACA Marketplace coverage. This is an opportunity for agents to build their book and enroll new customers in ACA plans during the Special Enrollment Period.
